The new 14-story 698,000 sf Women’s and Children’s hospital will house close to 300 beds and contain a dedicated pediatric emergency department, private NICU and pediatric rooms, and women’s urgent care center. Included in the project is a new 900 car patient/visitor garage connected directly to the hospital by a bridge.  The new hospital brings the highest level of care to the South Texas region with designated Level IV Maternal Fetal Medicine and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units and Level I Trauma Center.   The hospital focuses on family centered care and is seeking LEED Gold certification.  It is expected to open in summer of 2023.
