Leadership

JOSEPH H. HUIZAR, PE
MANAGING PARTNER

Joseph H. Huizar, PE is a Partner at IES. Having joined the firm in 2006, Joe is a licensed structural engineer with extensive experience that includes structural design, cost estimating, building evaluation reports, feasibility studies, specification writing,

construction management, and project management.

Joe has successfully provided engineering services to public and private clients throughout Texas for over 35 years. Licensed in the State of Texas, Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1987. His professional affiliations include the Structural Engineers Association of Texas, and the Association for Learning Environments.

Joe’s family includes three daughters and 4 grandchildren. He was very active in his daughter’s sports activities and plans to be just as active with the grandchildren. Joe’s personal activities include bowling, golf and chess.

JUSTICE W. EDGE, PE
PRESIDENT

Justice Edge, PE is a Partner at IES. He is a structural engineer who has been with the firm for 23 years and has extensive experience in structural design, cost estimating, building evaluation reports, feasibility studies, specification writing, and construction administration.

Justice is a Professional Engineer licensed in the States of Texas, California, and Oklahoma. He is also a Qualified Inspector for the Texas Department of Insurance and an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas, the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and the Professional Engineers in Private Practice. Justice earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1998 and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of New Mexico in 1994.

In his free time, Justice enjoys household projects and is currently terracing his back yard. Justice also enjoys scuba diving with his family. His favorite location for crystal clear waters is Cozumel, for large sea life is Grand Cayman, and for resort amenities at a reasonable price is Anthony’s Key in Roatan, Honduras.

ESTABLISHED IN 1999, IES has, over the years, exhibited steady growth, beginning with 13 employees when we started and growing to over 25 employees today.

Initially providing engineering services for building projects to the local community, the firm has earned a reputation as an active member of the design team, providing innovative engineering solutions responsive to the project design, project schedule and budgetary constraints. Our progress as a firm has been made possible not just because of the caliber of our engineering professionals and quality of our drawings, but also because of how we work with clients.

Our service is built on communication and responsiveness. This is what distinguishes IES from others. Regardless of fees or scope, we will always take care of our client. This was true when we established our practice in 1999, and it remains true today. Our service truly sets us apart.

With a staff of over twenty-five, including licensed professionals and graduate engineers, the individuals of IES embrace practical and innovative solutions that are responsive to the project design, schedule, and budget. IES is a multi-office firm providing structural engineering, and facility assessments throughout Texas and the southern United States. Our firm has provided engineering services on numerous facilities including both new construction and additions/renovations. Our clients include private developers, public entities, local governments and state and federal authorities. We have experience across many market sectors, including healthcare, higher education, K-12, multifamily living, cultural, hospitality, municipal, sacred spaces, public spaces, science and technology, commercial, recreational, detention facilities and federal projects.
