The 750,000 SF, facility is a mid-size, multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex. The seating capacity for professional basketball is 18,500 seats. The facility has the capacity to host other events such as hockey and ice shows, arena football, indoor soccer, concerts, rodeo events, and other community events. Our firm provided the design of the foundation, Event Level floor systems, basement walls, underground truck bays and player parking, underground tunnel, portions of the Courtside Club Level floor framing, East Entry Bridge (36-ft wide by 86-ft long, post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete pedestrian bridge) and trellis, and the West Plaza including the sombrilla shade structure. Structural systems include two-way flat slab on void box for the general Event Level spaces including the Marshalling area, two-way structural slab over void space at the ice floor, slab-on-potassium stabilized clay at the truck dock, two foot thick x 26′ clear span basement walls (truck bay walls as high as 30′), 30″ wide x 120″ deep x 105′ span post-tensioned concrete beams and girders at the truck dock roof, one-way slab and beam at the Courtside Club Level, pan-joist system at the East Entry Bridge, and steel deck supported by catenary shaped cables spanning 120′ from the building, across the West Plaza, to non-prismatic plate girders placed between buttressed columns.
