RECREATION & WELLNESS FACILITIES PHASE II AT MAIN CAMPUS, THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO
The facility included expansions to the 65,000 GSF Campus Recreation Center and the 9,300 GSF University Health Services. The Campus Recreation Component included an indoor elevated jogging track, cardiovascular exercise area, additional weight training exercise area, group exercise studios, stretching area, multipurpose classrooms with full technical capabilities, additional multipurpose gymnasiums for basketball/volleyball/badminton, interior soccer court, demonstration cooking studio, racquetball/Wally ball courts, expanded sound system, expanded security system, all access points on card reader, expanded locker rooms, massage therapy and fitness assessment studio, extensive intramural and outdoor equipment and program storage space, service loading dock connected to the outdoor equipment storage area, and service support areas, conference rooms, expanded staff offices, an outdoor pool area to include lazy river, whirlpool, leisure pool with adjacent picnic area (outdoor basketball court, sand volleyball court and BBQ area) and extensive pool storage, adjacent laundry facility and full locker amenities for both genders near the pools. The University Health Center Component included the addition of expanded office and reception space, expanded file areas and storage, conference space, exam rooms, counseling rooms, staff and physician offices and support service space.
