UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

This project will expand the existing University Health System (UHS) campus in the South Texas Medical Center, to a 1.1-million SF area, 14-story, 713-bed facility. A new trauma tower with an expanded emergency center and surgical capacity will be built beneath new inpatient rooms. ** This project is seeking Gold LEED Certification.

This state-of-the-art hospital facility includes:

  • Expanded Emergency Center (84 beds)
  • Two floors of surgical suites (35 total operating rooms)
  • 420 new private inpatient hospital rooms some with private courtyards and the capability to be converted to suites (for a total of 716 rooms)
