Civil Project Manager (Dallas, Texas)

Responsibilities

  • Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil engineering for multiple and concurrent projects at different phases of the project.
  • Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas.
  • Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
  • Coordinates technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other departments.
  • Participates in the selection of design teams and sub-consultants and in the negotiations of fees and subcontractors.
  • Conducts constructability reviews or assists in the design/planning/review of civil engineering projects.
  • Performs the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.
  • Participates in contract bidding and administration.
  • Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • May be required to complete safety training courses relative to engineering project environments.
  • Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions.
  • Fully responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects which have unique or controversial problems.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of concurrent projects of major scope and importance.
  • Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Assists in the preparation of the department/division budget and policy implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain licensure
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive work experience within the civil engineering field

Civil 3D Technician (San Antonio, Texas)

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Partners, Project Manager, and Production Manager
  • Has strong knowledge of Civil3D
  • Has experience producing civil construction documents.
  • Serves as technician assisting project teams with production work.
  • Ensures that Project Managers and Project Engineers receive timely work that is of sufficient quality and quantity to please the clients, owners, and contractors.
  • Maintains a positive attitude toward the work, other production staff, engineers, and clients.
  • Fosters a positive work environment within their team, the production department, and overall office.
  • Meet project deadlines as it relates to production work
  • Contributes to overtime effort in the production department

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in Civil3D or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a drafter.

Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (San Antonio, Texas)

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Partners and Engineering Department Manager
  • Performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with staff and clients on these projects. 
  • Includes preparation of survey drawings using Civil 3D.
  • Mentors survey assistant through on-the-job coaching.
  • Meet and exceeds client expectations by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely communication of information to and from clients and firm staff.
  • Prepares proposals for review by Engineering Department Manager
  • Monitoring budgets and schedules and keeps Engineering Department Manager apprise of project progress
  • Communicates effectively with client and project team members
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. in order to transport survey equipment on a daily basis.
  • May be required to complete safety training courses relative to survey project environments (i.e. fall protection, confined space entry, CPR/first aid, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, OSHA safety, hazard communication, etc.). 
  • Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties.  When a company vehicle is unavailable, your personal vehicle shall be utilized. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor in State of Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Combined 5 years field and office experience.

Survey Assistant/Technician (San Antonio, Texas)

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Partners, Project Managers, and Survey Manager
  • Works as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. 
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with staff and clients on these projects. 
  • Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, copying and filing of this data. 
  • Includes preparation of survey drawings using Civil 3D.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. in order to transport survey equipment on a daily basis.
  • May be required to complete safety training courses relative to survey project environments (i.e. fall protection, confined space entry, CPR/first aid, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, OSHA safety, hazard communication, etc.). 
  • Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school degree required.

Structural Project Engineer (San Antonio and McAllen, Texas)

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design.
  • Capable of comprehending construction documents of all disciplines.
  • Considerable knowledge of structural systems and construction methods.
  • Capable of producing framing plans, producing project specific details, edit master structural notes, special inspection tables, and specification sections for project specific requirements.
  • Work with Team Leader, Project Manager, other Project Engineers, Revit Modelers, and other staff to develop construction documents.
  • Attend meetings with clients as required. 
  • Coordinate drawings with other design team disciplines.
  • Oversee drafting personnel during production of project drawings.
  • Perform construction administration after construction document phase of project consisting of field observations, review of shop drawings, responding to RFI’s and creating ASI’s and PR’s as required.
  • Become familiar with IES standards and use them in design and detailing projects.
  • Foster a positive work environment within the engineering department, production department, and overall office.
  • Maintains client satisfaction in the coordination of project work.
  • Assists contractors in their successful construction of the intent of our contract documents.
  • Responds timely to RFIs and reviews shop drawings in the timeframe allotted.
  • Meet project deadlines and task deadlines set by project manager and/or team leader.
  • Contributes to overtime efforts of assigned team and other teams that need assistance.
  • Participate in monthly Technology and Engineering Standards Committee or Production Standards Committee meetings and efforts.
  • Ensure time is made to make progress on TESC or PSC tasks each month.
  • Motivated and works toward self-improvement and improvement of communication, engineering, framing, and detailing skills
  • Minimal travel is required to attend meetings, visit project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with the area of focus in structural engineering
  • Ability to become certified as an EIT in the state of Texas within 6 months
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well with supervisors, other staff, and clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with the area of focus in structural engineering
  • 2 to 3 years past experience in structural engineering as it relates to building design
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience with RISA 3D and Ram Structural Systems
  • EIT certification
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Has considerable knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD including high level operations.
  • Has considerable experience producing structural construction documents.
  • Serves as technician assisting project teams with production work.
  • Ensures that Project Managers and Project Engineers receive timely work that is of sufficient quality and quantity to please the clients, owners, and contractors.
  • Returns work that does not require additional rounds of redlines to explain basic structural framing/detailing concepts, correct errors, or to finish incomplete work.
  • Maintains a positive attitude toward the work, other production staff, engineers, and clients.
  • Fosters a positive work environment within their team, the production department, and overall office.
  • Meet project deadlines as it relates to production work
  • Contributes to overtime effort in the production department
  • Motivated and works toward self-improvement and improvement of Revit and AutoCAD skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school degree.
  • Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting and BIM modeling or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing structural framing plans and structural detailing.
