Intelligent Engineering Services Safety Vest

Responsibilities
•    Reports to Engineering Department Manager, Production Manager, and Project Manager
•    Has considerable knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD including high level operations.
•    Has considerable experience producing structural construction documents.
•    Serves as technician assisting project teams with production work.
•    Ensures that Project Managers and Project Engineers receive timely work that is of sufficient quality and quantity to please the clients, owners, and contractors.
•    Returns work that does not require additional rounds of redlines to explain basic structural framing/detailing concepts, correct errors, or to finish incomplete work.
•    Maintains a positive attitude toward the work, other production staff, engineers, and clients.
•    Fosters a positive work environment within their team, the production department, and overall office.
•    Meet project deadlines as it relates to production work
•    Contributes to overtime effort in the production department
•    Motivated and works toward self-improvement and improvement of Revit and AutoCAD skills 
Minimum Qualifications
•    Experience producing structural framing plans and structural detailing.
•    High school degree.
Preferred Qualifications
•    Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting and BIM modeling or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design.
  • Capable of comprehending construction documents of all disciplines.
  • Considerable knowledge of structural systems and construction methods.
  • Capable of producing framing plans, producing project specific details, edit master structural notes, special inspection tables, and specification sections for project specific requirements.
  • Work with Team Leader, Project Manager, other Project Engineers, Revit Modelers, and other staff to develop construction documents.
  • Attend meetings with clients as required.
  • Coordinate drawings with other design team disciplines.
  • Oversee drafting personnel during production of project drawings.
  • Perform construction administration after construction document phase of project consisting of field observations, review of shop drawings, responding to RFI’s and creating ASI’s and PR’s as required.
  • Become familiar with IES standards and use them in design and detailing projects.
  • Foster a positive work environment within the engineering department, production department, and overall office.
  • Maintain client satisfaction in the coordination of project work.
  • Assists contractors in their successful construction of the intent of our contract documents.
  • Responds timely to RFIs and reviews shop drawings in the timeframe allotted.
  • Meet project deadlines and task deadlines set by project manager and/or team leader.
  • Contributes to overtime efforts of assigned team and other teams that need assistance.
  • Participate in monthly Technology and Engineering Standards Committee or Production Standards Committee meetings and efforts.
  • Ensure time is made to make progress on TESC or PSC tasks each month.
  • Motivated and works toward self-improvement and improvement of communication, engineering, framing, and detailing skills
  • Minimal travel is required to attend meetings, visit project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with the area of focus in structural engineering
  • Ability to become certified as an EIT in the state of Texas within 6 months
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well with supervisors, other staff, and clients
